The Arizona State Council reaffirms its long-standing policy of not inviting to any Knights of Columbus event persons, especially public officials or candidates for public office, who do not support the legal protection of unborn children, or who advocate the legalization of assisted suicide, euthanasia or the infanticide known as partial-birth abortion, and of prohibiting such persons from renting or otherwise using facilities over which we have control, or speaking at Knights of Columbus events, or bestowing upon them honors or privileges of our Order of any kind, or inviting them to serve as honorary chairpersons of events, celebrations, or committees, or hold any office in the Knights of Columbus.
This statement was part of a resolution passed during the 99th Annual State Convention on May 20, 2006.
Do you interview grand knights before allowing them the position to determine whether or not they agree with our Supreme Knights on this matter? Without malicing or distracting from anyone I happen to know one paticular person that supported the current president and resisted the oppenent that was running against him regardless of what our church teaches us! Just thought maybe there should be a process to determine their personal stand prior to allowing them such high held positions.
